CivCrafter is still a Page One app on all of the Free Apps Arcade devices. Naturally we flipped out when we caught wind of CivMiner, and all new expansion for CivCrafter promising even more tapping goodness.
CivMiner, unsurprisingly, is a clicker. CivMiner, also unsurprisingly, is addictive. CivMiner will melt your face from satisfaction. You will then remold and reattach your face, because you are spectacularly hooked. It's hard to describe how gratifying the digging mechanics are in this game. You progress at just the right speed, and the chunky sound effects goad you on.
Along the way you collect boosts that can speed up the digging process. You'll also meticulously amass stone, rubies, and oil, which you can put to use in other areas of the game. Stone, for example, allows you to build statues that boost the power of your digging tools.
The coolest part of all is that players get to name stones as they discover them. That means every stone in the game will eventually be found and named by a real life player. It's fun seeing all the history behind the different stone types as you mine your way down.
Just like CivCrafter, CivMiner pairs clicker addictiveness with the depth of a full featured game. Scary.
